Kent Gardens

My name is Chris Hinton. I have been in the NVSL for more than 40 years as a swimmer and coach. In addition, I have coached for several USA swim clubs. Growing up, I swam for my summer, high school, and college teams.

I am thrilled to return for my 28th summer as head coach at KGRC. It truly is my family’s home away from home. My wife and I both teach at Kent Gardens Elementary School during the school year. Our oldest child, Luca, graduated from KGRC two years ago but will return as a coach. Our daughter, Sophie, also coaches and swims for the Dolphins, while our youngest, Paul, will swim with the 9-10s this year.

At KGRC, we have worked hard to create and maintain a competitive team environment while focusing on sportsmanship, personal improvement, teamwork, community, and fun. This family-like atmosphere keeps our kids coming back year after year, including many who have graduated but still keep in touch. We’re excited for another fantastic summer! 

Hi everyone! My name is Maddie Martinucci, and I am so excited to be joining Kent Gardens as the Assistant Head Coach for the 2026 Summer Season! I absolutely love summer swim team and strive to make it the most fun and fulfilling experience possible for every swimmer. 

My swimming journey began growing up in California where I swam on my neighborhood summer league team. This is where I fell in love with coaching! From there, I have coached every level of swimming from brand new beginners spanning all ages at the University of Maryland to summer league in Montgomery County to High Performance swimmers at Machine Aquatics and have loved every minute! 

When I’m not on the pool deck, I teach 7th grade US History at Kilmer Middle School! I am so excited to meet you all and get started with the summer season! Go Dolphins!
